The Kendrick extrication device (KED) is effectively used in extrication to remove victims of traffic collisions from motor vehicles, when rapid immobilisation in tight spots is required. The K.E.D. has horizontal flexibility for ease of application to patients in cramped areas, and vertical rigidity for spinal stability and safety. Used in conjunction with a cervical collar, the KED is an effective semi-rigid brace that secures the head, neck and torso in an anatomically neutral position. It is an invaluable product for any emergency team.
